About the Editor

I am a Canadian who has been living in the Netherlands since 2019. I arrived on exchange to study at Radboud University, loved it, begged them to let me stay on for another semester, and was then promptly stranded owing to the pandemic. The department I studied in generously gave me a job editing editing academic texts written in English (by non-native authors) and I have been doing this work ever since.

By the end of my studies (2022), I had earned a BA and MA in religious studies, and another MA in theology. I specialise in asceticism, apophasis, grief and secular ritual. I have primarily edited texts within the fields of religious studies and theology, but additionally in fields such as philosophy, and the social and political sciences.

Being Canadian grants me familiarity with both US and UK variants of English. I also have a few years lived experience in England, which involved some copywriting for a local business. I currently have a B1 level in Dutch, and am constantly improving; I am often able to reverse engineer mistranslations and offer the ideal corresponding English. I am particularly skilled in producing language that is clear and concise, even when dealing with abstract notions.
